You talk about success so much, how would you define failure on the web?

Defining Failure

Failing On the Internet is a lot "Easier" than Becoming a Success .

Failure working on the internet is very commonplace at times. ( Been there, done that and writing a book on it. ) Almost every one at some time or another has joined this program, or that program, and never even bothered looking further into it than the sign up page. Some that do take the time to explore more about the program they join find little or no help understanding exactly what is expected of them, let alone the correct way to work the program.

I know you are probably saying "What about all those scam programs, Ponzi's and so one". Those types are doomed to eventual failure anyway. They wil either be caught in Flagrant violation of some rule or regulation they have been side-stepping for some time, or they will die from "lack of interest and participation" No need to worry about them!

Most of the program owners/creators have more than just time invested in their creations. It's just like any "Physical, flesh and blood company" , requiring research, developing, and maintainance. This usually requires a substantiial investment on the part of the owner (s), so you can be certain, they will want to have the best returrn they can possibly get for their time and efforts.

If you would take the time to "Look into" all the "linked pages" in these 'Member's areas, you will find that the owners have set up a complete, "working" method to use the program the way it is intended to be used. Everything is there, "In Place", waiting for the new member to help him or her understand

  1. What to do getting started
  2. The order in which to do it.
  3. The tools that will help the future marketer
  4. In some cases, Pruducts the member can both use themselves and sell
  5. and how they benefit from the program.

As i mentioned at the beginning here, I have been in this position a few times. When I first started doing anything online, it was to get some exposure for a website my church had started. I joined an online community, and statred telling people about the site. Some visited the site and some didn't. In the midlle of all this, I started seeing other "Possibilities" for getting more visitors to that site, those being Traffic Exchanges and Affiliate programs. I wasn't concerned with making money from these programs, as long as I got people visiting that site. After all I wasn't "Selling" anything at all.

That's where I "Failed". By not taking advantage of what these "Programs" did have to offer in the ways of tools and the "Means to be Successfull" , I didn't get the full "Benefit" of what the progrma had to offer!

So, in closing, "The choice is yours". Continue signing up under every program out there and fail by just sitting by an waiting for 'Other peoples efforts' while doing nothing for yourself, or Looking more closely at what your program has to help you Succed. You are the only one that can make that decision.

thanks for your writing. It also helps me in establishing an online career as people always mention about success but hardly speak of their failures...

Hello Dinamars,

thanks for stoping by. If we can learn from our mistakes, why notdo the same with our failures? Life itself is a learning experiance. When we draw our final breath, that is when we are finished learning, not before.

Hi Steven:

You have made some very good points here. I am all for talking about success, but it is also learning about why people fail that we then can learn how to help them, by creating the products they need, giving good information, showing how to brand themselves as experts. I am finding that people go into a business and all they want to do is refer. It is just so amazing to me. We all need to understand that working on the net, especially in the beginning, requires work, study and doing due diligance. Not all programs will be for everybody and we need to stop being like lemmings..following the crowd. Dare to stand up and say no and brand you.

To Your Success Steven,

Diane

Hello Diane,

You know, it's funny you should mention "Lemmings". The reason I say this, is that this is exactly how I was acting when I first started on the Internet and as many still are to date. Sure there a Multitude of programs and other things one can join or do online, but we still need to take the steps necessary to make them work. Sadly there are stil many out there that may never get past the sign up stages for reasons only they know. It's very refreshing to know "Not everyone" feels or acts that way.

Your Success is Right Around the Corner Diane!
